I have another premiere for you. Another perfume by a Berlin Designer, this time it’s Anat Fritz in cooperation with the famous perfumer Geza Schoen.
Tzora is the second perfume by Anat Fritz, I’ve already reviewed the Anat Fritz Classical. Classical was reworked in the meantime and we now have two wonderful perfumes, I would say one for those who prefer it earthy and woody, the other one for those who love to show their feminine side without being girly – Tzora.
Tzora was inspired by the Israeli kibbutz of the same name. Anat told me that Tzora is situated where the biblical home of Samson and Delila used to be. Anat loves to spend her summers at this kibbutz, which is situated between pomegranate, lemon and olive trees and where you have an amazing view over the landscape. She told me that in every corner of the kibbutz you’d find growing papayas, mangos, kiwis, maracujas and grapefruits. Sounds like paradise, doesn’t it? She describes the people in the kibbutz as very straight forward, so don’t expect a fruit cocktail. The scent is rather tart. With its mossy base it is kind of classical.
How to describe best? Tzora smells like a shirt worn by a man, that a woman takes in the evening to sleep. It’s a mixture of masculine and feminine notes, a marriage of both genders. For a splitsecond you get a spritz of cassis in the opening followed by delicate blossoms with sweet pepper aromas and woody, earthy notes like vetiver, patchouli and moss. In a way ethereal, but also grounding. Fantastic. Where did they hide the jasmine? I can’t get it, maybe because the vetiver and bergamot smell very intense before the patchouli gets trough and reveals a more earthy touch. I smell something like mint in the background but Anat told me that there is none.
Tzora is feminine, but straightforward, self-confident, dynamic, fresh and clear. A great statement for a strong woman.
