Lonestar Memories is a unique perfume that reminds me of an old Western. And indeed, there is a movie called “Lone Star” from 1952, starring Clark Gable and Ava Gardner. After all the brawling, shooting and fighting is over, the woman falls into the hero’s arms whispering, “You know you’re a strange man, but quite a lot of man.”
Lonestar Memories is just like that: The first impression is rather sharp – there is a resinous opening with elements of birch tar and smoke that evoke a leathery note. In the middle, jasmin dominates and gives the perfume a warm heart – cherchez la femme – drying down really beautifully with sandalwood and the sweetness of tonka bean. The scent becomes softer and softer as time goes by. In the end, it feels as if it’s become part of your body. Lay down your head, lonesome rider. The saddle is still warm from the heat of the day.
