Who has not bought a present for Valentine’s Day yet! I haven’t. And it’s super damn late. So I was thinking about some advice – et voilà . Sweets for my sweet.
Three for the girls…
Pomme d’Amour by Micallef. AÂ sweet love potion with blackcurrant, orange, pomelo, tangerine, coconut, peach, cedarwood, tonka bean, vanilla and white musk. Sounds great? It is! You won’t bite her, no? It’s for those who like Lolita Lempicka but are looking for something else.
Some days ago, I’ve read a post about perfumes that get the most compliments – and there were a lot of tuberose perfumes on the list. So here we go, that’s my tuberose insider’s tip: Nectar of Love by April Aromatics – the sweetest, aphrodisiac nectar you can imagine. 100 per cent natural with tuberose, jasmine, rose and sandalwood. Blame it on the semiprecious stone essences Tanja Bochnig uses for her perfumes, it’s magic! This scent is infused with amber and citrine.
Fam (‘mouth’) by SoOud is a sophisticated, very feminine Oud (agarwood) scent with notes of chili, saffron, rose, cashmere, sandalwood, cedar, milk and musk. Very intriguing. I love Oud (agarwood) in combination with roses and saffron. Fam is powdery, flowery, mysterious and very sensual. This mouth wants to be kissed. And I become a rose lover as time goes by. Who would have thought.
And three for the guys…
Musc Ravageur by Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. This musk is really stunning! With notes of bergamot, tangerine, cinnamon, amber, musk, cedarwood, sandalwood, and vanilla. A ‘smooth operator’.
Absolue Pour le Soir by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Dirty, dark, sultry, oriental with notes of rose honey, frankincense, ylang-ylang, cumin, cedarwood and sandalwood. This perfume definitely needs a hairy chest! It is – the name says it all – for the evening, I would say for the night.
Al Oudh by L’Artisan Parfumeur. Justice… one Oud for the ladies, one for the men. Editor’s note: this scent is not for the office. Al Oudh is animalic and smokey but it has this wonderful fruity undertone of dates, that makes it absolutely wearable. With notes of cumin, cardamom, pepper, dates, rose, neroli, frankincense, saffron, leather, Oud, cedarwood, civet, patchouli, myrrh, vanilla and tonka beans. Any questions? I said not in the office!
The best song for Valentine’s Day is a special version of My funny Valentine by Chet Baker. It’s so full of emotion… unbelievable. Please welcome the wonderful Chet. I’m lost in music…
