Finally autumn has reached Berlin-Mitte and the leaves are turning into wonderful golden and red colors. This week it will become reaaally cold.
Here I am with my Top 10 Autumn Scents 2012 – as always in random order.
Yosh: Sombre Negra
With Sombre Negra (Black Shadow) Yosh presents the first fragrance from the new M series, dedicated to our basic instincts. A very mysterious and sensual perfume. Cypress, vetiver, iris, juniper, guajac wood, cedar wood, patchouli and incense create a very unique, masculine aura words can’t describe. Sombre Negra reminds me of a classical tobacco scent but is so much more.
Serge Lutens: Santal Majuscule

Santal Majuscule smells – a lot of people already wrote about it – of Jeux de Peau, but only vaguely. We get rose and chocolate on top which makes Santal Majuscule an autumn scent par excellence. Spicy with a very intense feeling.
Tom Ford: Black Orchid

For me THE classic for the cold season. Lush, alluring, sexy and feminine. A statement and a damn good one. If you are wearing Black Orchid, everything will smell of this wonderful dark liquid. Be careful and use only a little bit – they will notice you for sure.
Comme des Garçons: 2
One of my favorite perfumes for men in autumn and winter. Delicious how this scent mixes with the smell of fallen leaves on the pavement. The lying silver vial is one of my favorite flacons ever.
Lolita Lempicka: Eau de Minuit

This dark violet apple is my signature scent right now. The limited Eau de Minuit – Midnight Fragrance 2012 is a flanker of Le Premier Parfum by Lolita Lempicka, but it is more intense and – as the vial already juxtaposes – darker. I love this warm cloud of licorice, iris, myrrh, jasmine and vanilla.
Kerosene Fragrances: R’Oud Elements

In the jungle of oud scents this is one of the really good ones. Most of them are too animalic, too intense, too dark. R’Oud Elements is perfectly in balance with spicy and woody notes, rounded of with vanilla and amber and a fresh accent of bitter orange. The man behind this line is John Pegg, a video blogger, who started to create his own perfumes. He’s a real talent! And the vials which he sprays with car paint are really outstanding.
Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle: Lipstick Rose

Powdery rose, the smell of Chanel lipsticks – delicious!
Miller Harris: Terre de Bois

Terre de Bois feels like a walk in the woods in autumn. It’s a masculine scent I discovered for myself years ago. With verbena, juniper, galbanum, vetiver and patchouli.
Balmain: Ivoire

Some of you might not feel very comfortable with all the thick clothes and wool during the colder season. For those who are looking for a good contrast I recommend the newly launched Ivoire by Balmain. A clean scent which comes across a little bit soapy, but very elegant. For those who think galbanum is a beast, try Ivoire and it will change your mind. Wonderful – the scent, the puristic flacon and the advertising campaign as well. Kudos!
Linari: Angelo di Fiume
Not the most typical Mark Buxton scent: raspberry, cherry and orange on caramel, bourbon vanilla, white musk and patchouli. Bergamot
prevents the candy floss effect, therefore I also recommend it for men. It’s brilliant, but unfortunately very expensive!
There are even more darling perfumes for autumn, like Kyoto by Comme des Garçons, Ambre Narguilé by Hermès, Carbone by Balmain, Coco Noir by Chanel, Volutes by Diptyque and so on…
What is your favorite at the moment?
