My personal recommendation for vanilla lovers – Vaniglia del Madagascar by I Profumi di Firenze, the manufactory of Dr. Giovanni di Massimo, who discovered and reformulated old secret formulas of perfumes from Caterina de‘ Medici with the finest selections of floral and botanical essences. The vials are made of sandblasted glass and are inscribed by hand, which gives the perfumes an aura of traditional handcraft.
Vaniglia del Madagascar has convinced me although I am not so into vanilla – vanilla scents are often too mundane, to sweet – in short, not nifty enough. This one is different. Vaniglia del Madagascar has a tender gourmand touch, floral notes of orchid and some caramel mixed with woods and incense in the drydown. Vaniglia del Madagascar evolves with a creamy softness and an elegant warmth on the skin and is perfect for warm summer days. The typical powdery note of vanilla is used more creamy and sophisticated here. The perfume is subtle, stays close to the skin and I promise you won’t stop sniffing on yourself!
