Eau de Berlin or Veilchen (violet), Marlene Dietrich’s favorite scent – at the recently opened Store Frau Tonis Parfum you can get special scents from Berlin’s perfume manufactories, such as Harry Lehmann. Anyone who used to look for something special in the Western part of the city at Harry Lehmann’s store may now get some unique perfumes right near the Checkpoint Charlie. My favorites are New York and Wüstensand (desert sand). The bestseller amongst Italian men is Tulpe (tulip) because this perfume smells like ‚la mamma‘ I have been told.
If you want to know more about perfume in general and about the fragrances of Frau Toni in particular, you can book a private session, the so-called Aroma Therapy. With a glass of Crémant in your hand and some canapés you are introduced to the perfumes of Frau Toni and at the end of the tour you can create your own fragrance. It’s a lot of fun and Jenny-Kathinka Krüger, soon-to-be psychologist and an expert in scents, knows everything about perfume. She has great stories to tell.
