I love to cook and this is why I am always searching for new recipes. To me all the different tastes and flavors are the closest thing to perfume! I have found Heather’s blog L.A. in Bloom by accident and was taken by the recipes she presents in combination with a mixture of fashion, art, interior and lifestyle. I love the colorful pictures and always get inspired by her posts. Lately I fell in love with the cognac-colored Sac Bretelle by Clare Vivier –  just to mention one brand I detected on L.A. in Bloom.
Heather runs the contemporary art gallery Taylor de Cordoba in L.A. and lives in a beautifully decorated house with her husband. Surfing through her blog I found a picture with different perfume vials, so I decided that Heather – who looks a little bit like Frida Kahlo – should be the next one to be covered in my column Smells like…
Here is what Heather told me about her favorite scent:
„Nothing transports me back to a past experience as quickly as the memory of scent. And this is why I am grateful for Coqui Coqui, the spa-meets-perfumerie-meets-boutique hotel located in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. My husband Alex and I recently enjoyed our honeymoon in this part of the world, specifically in the oceanside town of Tulum, where, along with enjoying sand and sea, I had an unexpected perfume epiphany. This happened at Coqui Coqui, of course, where I couldn’t get enough of their locally-inspired scents. Realizing that I had stumbled upon something great, I stocked up on candles, bath oils and eau de toilette, in scents ranging from Coco-Coco (coconut) to Agave to Menli (Mint & Lime). This is where I discovered what has since become my favorite perfume: fresh and lightly sweet, Coqui Coqui’s Orange Blossom Eau de Cologne is so good that I seem to have forgotten about the other pretty bottles sitting untouched on my vanity. With one spritz, it’s summer again and I’m back in Tulum.“
